Johnny Quest - The Heisman - 1992from the Blue Dude cd "10 Million Summers"
Johnny Quest was a fun funk metal band from Raleigh, NC. They played a lot of shows in the late 80's/early 90's. They released "10 Million Summers" in 1992. Anyone who saw Johnny Quest will admit that they were a great live band.

This is a great blog. I've long been looking for a digital version of a song I only have on shitty cassette -- "Slag Off" by Joby's Opinion. This Chapel Hill band featured my Bull's Head Bookshop co-worker Chris Palmatier and the sng is from, maybe, 1996 or 1997. Anyone got it?
These guys also ran Pointdexter music. a Durham, NC staple for music. Also - I am pretty sure JQ formed out of the ashes of the Pressure Boys.
Johnny Quest must've played my fraternity house 10-15 times while I was at Carolina. Great party band!
Anonymous - JQ was definitely not post-Pressure Boys. I was at a number of double bills with them, including a show at the old Culture Club in Raleigh that was pretty fantastic. Jack Campbell played bass for both bands at one time or another - might be what you're thinking of. (And in case of further confusion, it was Bill Ladd in JQ, brother Rob in PBoys)
Loved JQ while at Wake Forest. Had a lucky JQ T-shirt that I did 150 sky dives in till it literally fell apart in the washer. Wish they were still around!!!
I just learned of a compilation of B-sides called "Everything Else"
Anyone seen or have a copy of it they would sell?
Joe (old lead singer) and his family live across the street from me.
In a conversation about a break-in, I once said "lady cop" in front of him in...not sure if he caught it...
They have "Everything Else" on Rhapsody, but to be honest - the only song on it that sounds vaguely familiar is Jack singing "Char Girl."
I don't know who's singing the other stuff, but it's not the Johnny Quest I know.....from my days in VA and at the GA Theater in Athens.
